Bring it to Stitch & Mend - Mend the Gap, a relaxed, hands-on repair session at The Plaid Cow.

This is not a sewing class. It’s a chance to sit down, work on those things you've been meaning to mend, and get a little help along the way.

A little about me...

I'm not a professional seamstress or tailor - I'm a maker who has been sewing for a very long time, and I've picked up some skills along the way.

I can help with minor alterations, repairs and those little sewing jobs that you've been putting off. And if we come across something I don't know how to tackle? We'll figure it out together.

This is about learning, experimenting and getting things mended rather than throwing them away.

There is no obligation to stay the whole 2 hours. Feel free to come and go as you please during this time frame. 

What can you bring?

Clothing, bags, linens or other fabric items that need a little TLC - a tear, a loose seam, a missing button, a hem that needs fixing, or a repair you've been avoiding because you weren't sure how to tackle it. No wedding dresses please - I’m not that good. 😊 

We'll look at what you've brought, figure out the best way to approach the repair, and get to work.

What to bring

• The item(s) you want to mend

• Any buttons, patches, zippers or other bits you may need for your repair

• Your sewing machine, if you'd prefer to use your own

There will be basic sewing supplies (including sewing machine) available, and I'll be there to help you work through your repairs.

Spots: Limited to 4 participants
Cost: $30 PER PERSON

Come with something that needs fixing. Leave with a little less in the mending pile.

Please note: This is a small-group, hands-on repair session rather than a formal sewing lesson. Some repairs may not be possible within the session, depending on the item and what is needed.
